Nike – Move with Hart
project name

Nike – Move with Hart

Nike+ Run Club commissioned The Flying Dutchmen to film Kevin’s Heart “Move with Hart” event in Vondelpark, Amsterdam. The event is in line with similar events in New York and London. The Amsterdam version took place on 30th of January, 2016.
Set out in two different video’s, we can see how Kevin Hart does not only motivate the (750+/-) participants to complete this 5k run together, he inspires people to move. His ideas about this movement become clear with his words: “It is not about who finishes first and who finishes last, it is about us finishing together.”
The enthusiasm shown by Kevin Hart, his team and all participants is clearly conveyed, not only through his powerful speech, but also through the shots of the film.

The setting is an early Saturday morning. The translucent light in the park feels as a grey curtain of near-light. The rain feels thick and reminds us that this curtain is still hanging down before the shows starts.
Although he is a performer, his role this day doesn’t involve a show, that would implicate that there is an audience. On this day there isn’t an audience, On this day there is only a community, running with each other, for each other.
It doesn’t take long before the grey is broken with bright colors from the ground up. The rain stopped at the moment this community started to move. A community not only different in color of running apparel, but also different in color of ethnicity. Individuals from all ranges of life, places and histories. Running together like a unity. All the faces hold the same expression; “I’m dedicated to share this moment with them. I’m dedicated to finish with them… with them all.”
Like the colors break the grey, the faces upon finishing break from their expression of dedication into smiles and laughter.

Especially in the triangular convergence between the words of Kevin Hart’s speech, the footage and music this feeling of motivation, inspiration and determination are placed in the foreground of entire look and feel of the video. In making the right choices in these three fields of production the message becomes more than just a video of a running event, which adds to a valuable philosophy: “It’s not just a run, it’s a movement.” In our minds we might add “Life is about the people you meet, and the things that you create with them.”
The count of the views shown on Facebook passed the 1 million views in just two days.

Motivational Speech:
I think it’s dope as hell that you all came out, regardless of the weather.
I feel like this is what true warriors do.
This is what dedication is about.
This is how you inspire.
This is how you motivate.
Let me tell you a little something about myself, people;
I want to make other people better – I don’t like being great by myself.
I want people to be great with me.
With that being said, let me tell you the beauty of what I’m doing right now.
I’m doing this to simply bring people of all races, shapes, sizes together
and show people that as a unit, as a union, we can not only get along –
but we can love,
we can live,
we can laugh,
we can inspire,
we can motivate,
we can change the world.
It starts with stuff like this.
You guys don’t realize the impact that we’re having.
This ‘Move With Hart’ thing, it is something that started all small,
that is eventually growing to a world dominating platform.
I’m putting this on an international level.
So, today, understand people, this ain’t a race.
It is not about who finishes first and who finishes last,
it is about us finishing together.
I do not leave until everybody has finished.
That being said, the longer you take, the longer you fuck my day up.
I got a lot of stuff to do today, ok, I got a show tonight.
Don’t take all day to come across that finish line,
cause I’m waiting on you.

If you see somebody struggling,
tap ‘em on the back
and tell them to finish,
tell them that you’re there with them.
We’re here to help each other, man.
At the end of the day we started as a group,
we finish as a group.
Amsterdam, let’s make the day epic.
Let’s kick this 5k’s ass.
